The Tarrytown Sanitary Fair Quilt
The Tarrytown Sanitary Fair Quilt was documented by the Connecticut Quilt Search Project (CQSP) in Manchester, CT on February 6, 1993. The village of Tarrytown had about 600 inhabitants in 1860. The quilt was made in July, 1864 as a fundraiser to benefit Disabled Civil War Soldiers. The civil war would continue another nine months ending on April 9, 1865. In 2011, the CQSP facilitated the quilt's donation to the Tarrytown Historical Society by it's owners, Mr. & Mrs. Charles E. Crocker of Manchester, Connecticut.
