AQSG Seminar Fund

AQSG's feature event is our annual Seminar. Held in a different location every year, Seminar brings quilt enthusiasts and scholars together for a weekend of quilts and quilt study. In addition to the presentation of research papers chosen for publication in Uncoverings, Seminar offers pre-conference tours of museums and private collections, study centers, engaging speakers, panel presentations, and a poster session. Other events include live and silent auctions of quilts and other treasures; show-and-tell of remarkable quilts, textiles, and related items; an on-site special quilt exhibition; and the sale of vintage quilts and textiles by member dealers from across the country. Your donation will assist in subsidizing the welcome reception, tours, audio visual, and other expenses related to Seminar.

AQSG Seminar Fellowship Fund

The AQSG Seminar Fellowship Program provides funds for the purpose of attending the organization's annual Seminar by individuals who have serious interest in the aims of the organization. Recipients of a Seminar Fellowship award receive a complimentary Seminar registration for the year in which they applied. Awards are based on serious interest and the expectation of a future contribution to quilt history. Membership in American Quilt Study Group is required to apply for and receive a Seminar Fellowship. Seminar Fellowship recipients may not receive an award more than once and the Fellowship is not transferable.

Endowment Fund

The AQSG Endowment Fund produces a steady stream of income through investing the principal. Using the interest and earnings from this fund each year AQSG offers grants for outreach projects instead of research. As the Endowment grows we will be able to expand our vision to include support of new educational programs, scholarship opportunities, expanded and enhanced publications, and additional community outreach programs. Endowment gifts of $10,000 or more may be given as named endowments with gains restricted to your specified purpose. Contact the AQSG office if you would like more information.

AQSG Spring Appeal

The Spring Appeal makes it possible for AQSG to offer membership new programs dedicated to quilt study, in addition to continuing in-person Seminar and scholarly publications. Because dues alone don't cover all of AQSG's costs, we depend on your gifts to help balance the budget.

#GivingTuesday

AQSG is again participating in the #GivingTuesday fundraising campaign. Tuesday, November 29, is a day of global generosity that leverages the power of social media to support nonprofits. It is an opportunity for AQSG to raise awareness and money for our organization! Donations will support the Quilt Study Project for the next two years. The Quilt Study exhibit is one of AQSG’s best outreach tools. By traveling to different venues across the country, the exhibit shares our mission and research through the wonderful pieces created by our members. Please consider donating to support the 2023 study, 19th Century Blues: It's More Than Indigo.
