The American Quilt Study Group (AQSG) encourages all individuals who are interested in quilt-related research to explore our programs, regardless of your level of experience. 

 

We encourage and support research through grants, a seminar fellowship, and our Research and Publication Mentoring Program. We offer a range of opportunities for sharing results: poster, panel and oral presentations, as well as publication in our quarterly newsletter Blanket Statements and Uncoverings, our peer-reviewed journal.

After seeing her story about a Vermont quilt printed as the lead story in the Fall 2019 issue of Blanket Statements, Kathy Metelica Cray posted on Facebook: “I am thrilled. Thank you, Sharon Pinka and Jill Wilson, for your guidance!” She offered this advice to other prospective authors: “If you hesitate to put an article in AQSG’s Blanket Statements, take that step. You will get an enormous amount of help and support and the reward is exhilarating!”
