The Lucy Hilty Research Grant

For quilt-related research
Eligibility: Open to all (members and non-members)
Amount: Up to $2,000

Applications Due: May 1st

 

The purpose of this program is funding quilt research. Of special interest are projects having a focus on documenting quilts, quiltmakers and techniques, textile production of quilt fabrics, the quilting industry and material cultural influences related to quiltmaking. This grant will be awarded based on the quality of the proposal and how effectively its implementation would impact overall quilt scholarship. Each year this fund may award up to $2,000 to an AQSG member.

H. Mark Dunn Research Grant

For quilt-related research with a specific focus
Eligibility: Open to all (members and non-members)
Amount: Up to $2,000

Applications Due: May 1st

 

The H. Mark Dunn Research Grant will fund quilt research that documents processes related to the design and production of quilt textiles, quiltmaking techniques, and the quilting industry. The award is based on the quality of the proposal and the overall impact on quilt scholarship.

Sue Cummings Research Grant

For quilt-related research with an Ohio or Midwest focus
Eligibility: Open to all (members and non-members)
Amount: Up to $2,000

Applications Due: May 1st

 

This grant supports outstanding and innovative scholarship in quilt history related studies. Proposals must focus on Ohio or Midwest quilts and related topics prior to, and including, the early 20th century quilt revival. This grant is made possible through the generosity of Mr. Glynn Marsh in honor and recognition of the research interest of his late wife Sue Cummings.

AQSG Seminar Fellowship

Eligibility: Open to AQSG members AND nonmembers

Applications Due: May 1st

 

Recipients of a Seminar Fellowship award receive a complimentary Seminar registration, hotel and travel expenses (up to $1,500), complimentary admittance to Study Centers at Seminar, and a one year membership to AQSG. The award(s) is/are based on serious interest and the expectation of a future contribution to quilt history on the part of the recipient(s). A maximum of two (2) fellowships may be awarded in any one year provided funds are available. The recipient of the Fellowship Award may not apply for the Fellowship again for 2 years.

AQSG Endowment Grant

For education and outreach
Eligibility: Individuals, groups, organizations, and institutions; AQSG membership not required. Amount: based on available funding.
Applications Due: May 1

AQSG is proud to offer grant opportunities funded entirely from the earnings of its membership-supported endowment fund. This competitive grant supports the quilting community and is awarded to an individual, group, organization or institution for a project that will advance the mission of AQSG through outreach and education activities.
